Dropped my daughter at BUR from SBP in A36/G. VFR w flt fol: SBAP37 rte. Req vis app to rwy 15. SOCAL clrd us with "maint 3K until estab on final" (to stay out of WHP airspace). Decel early to 150 apprch final, extend half flaps+gear to keep airspeed under control during descent: be stable at 500' AGL. Twr directed LAHS of rwy 8. Exit at D to Atlantic. ATLANTIC is the preferred option: $15 ramp dropoff (<30 min) + $10 infra = $25. Millionaire fee = $40 + ? Dep VFR rwy 8 on Golden State vis dep.

Atlantic aviation is terrific. Didn't care for how the tower handled us (VFR) inbound or outbound. Was requested to keep 3k feet until final which made a stable approach difficult -- hard to descent while controlling airspeed. Also on departure RWY 8 was asked to switch from a right xwind departure to a left xwind immediately after rotation. Not practical to clear the northern hills in a prop on a left crosswind. Be cautious -- and ready to say unable if necessary for safety.

Very simple Class C to fly into for GA. If flying VFR you will most likely land 15. When departing head south and then east to do the Hollywood sign flyby. Simple request during CD makes it easy to see the sign. Absolutely good airport and GA friendly. Controllers are very accommodating. FBO's are great.
