September 18, 2024Good experience flying in on a Sat morning. The airspace and FBO were very busy, but the folks at KASE were wonderful including the tower, line crews, and FBO staff. Everybody was cheerful, competent and fine to deal with. Good avgas prices also.

Airport located in high mountain valley with mountainous terrain from 12500 - 14000 ft MSL in near proximity to airport; numerous unlighted obstructions. all adverse weather situations magnified in mountains. operations during periods of reduced visibility discouraged for pilots unfamiliar with area.
Airport restricted to maximum aircraft wingspan of 95 ft.
All arriving aircraft frm 2000 to 2300l must announce CTAF 118.85 when they are 20, 15, 10 and 5 miles out and on short final. equipment may be on the runway.
All commercial aircraft advise prior to pushback onto taxiway-a.
APT Lighting Schedule: When atct closed actvt MALSF runway 15; reil runway 33; papi runway 15; mirl runway 15/33 - CTAF. reil runway 15 - atct ctl, oper day vfr only.
