Clay Lacy Aviation at Van Nuys Pilot ReviewsOverall Rating:

January 12, 2026The way in from Taxiway A1 to the Jet FBO is shut down for good. Controllers seem to use that as a little trap..it’s hardly ever NOTAMed, but it’s almost always called out in the ATIS. So if you don’t copy the whole ATIS, you can end up trying to use it and get caught. No one really seems to know why they don’t just decommission it or pull the taxiway out entirely.

March 11, 2024Good service and fine FBO Flew my Cessna 190 in to support our Hawker. $255 bucks for a ramp fee! A bit steep. Would not waive or lessen it whatsoever. Cost more to ramp a Cessna for 10 minutes than it cost to fly it over there ! I'm told there minimum ramp fee is $255

June 10, 2022By far the finest FBO we visit anywhere! We lately changed from LAX. The assistance at Clay Lacy VNY is first class! They possess a team that is prepared and desires to help in every manner. The finest aspect is that they truly feel like part of our crew and appear to genuinely enjoy their work. It’s pleasant to arrive at a first class FBO for an adjustment and not sense that I just got bent over when I’m given the bill. I informed our manager that arriving at CL at VNY nearly seems like shoplifting. Show their team some appreciation, be generous with the gratuities because their facility pricing allows for it. This location is superior to Disneyland! This would be a 6 star review if that were a possibility. First 2 evenings waived and good fuel cost for C.A.A. members. Curtis L. Gulfstream GV

March 17, 2021I called the day prior and inquired if they had space for me to drop off a passenger. When I asked about ramp charges, “the supervisor” asked what type of a plane and I answered a Cessna 421C. Which she looked up by N number. She asked if I was C.A.A. and I answered no and that I needed Av gas. She stated if I took fuel no ramp charge. I asked if they had 100LL and she confirmed they did. Little did I realize she implied Signature had the 100 LL not Clay Lacey. When I arrived it was the same woman and she wanted a $150 landing charge because I wasn’t purchasing jet fuel and asserted she didn’t know what type of an airplane a Cessna 421 was even though she looked it up the day before by N number. WHO IN THE FBO BUSINESS DOESN’T KNOW WHAT A 421 is? They assessed a ramp charge and provided almost no assistance in getting Signature over to refuel us which took over an hour. Also Signature only demands half as many gallons to waive the ramp charges as Clay Lacey. The 421 is my plane but I fly 4 other jets and will never utilize Clay Lacey facilities again.

August 18, 2025They said their overnight charge for a Cessna 182 was $250/night, waivable with the purchase of 150 gallons of fuel (it is about 7 gallons to fly my plane there, and I only carry 75 gallons in total). So I chose to fly in each day instead and was told I would have to pay $50 security fee. This is the only FBO I have ever observed at a non-airline airport that wanted to charge a security fee. I went to the Prop Park instead.

April 9, 2021Awful wait times. They have zero concern and will make you wait forever for the fuel truck to arrive.
