January 14, 2026Flew in today in a TBM to drop off friends for their flights home from IAH. Tower controllers were good with taxi instructions, the toughest part about flying into a huge Bravo airport. Fine ATC folks working the HOU TRACON and tower. Do not avoid flying into IAH, just maintain your speed and heed the controllers.

March 22, 2021Flew In there in our SR22 last weekend 3/19/21. No STAR for us. Filed direct and they vectored us in. Asked for 33R (33L is closed for construction) from approach and then tower. Tower was very fine but because of 33L being closed they were only doing departures from there and would have to land 26R. Literally, as far away from Signature as possible! The taxi was long but not as wild as I had worried. Ground controllers were patient and only gave me a couple turns at a time. As another said, don’t be afraid. Just stay on top of your radios and they will look after you.
