November 25, 2024Flew in on an IFR flight plan. got cleared to land number two at 1 mile final the controller. Let a student pilot takeoff ahead of me. It was clearly not sufficient room. I had to go around being that I was faster I sidestepped to the left and the tower asked me to make a right crosswind into the plane I was overtaking, i then landed without incident. Be cautious. There's a lot of training going on at this airport.

June 30, 2023Tied down for a one night stay to check out the campus. Friendly personnel, easy onsite car rental, attentive fuel truck. FBO interior is clean and simple. Agree that the FBO is smaller than I anticipated with a major Big 10 school. Would certainly return, but unlikely to try it on a game weekend.

Runway 24 runup area first 200 ft of taxiway a; taxiway a1 between taxiway a & runway 24 hold line not vsb from tower.
When atct closed confirm snow removal opns & winter conds - CTAF.
