City of La Junta (KLHX)

Great airport to fly into, with good facilities. I'm learning to call ahead since the self-serve gas computer POS doesn't always work.

Does not seem like a bad airport! Only thing was the 24hr self service was not 24hr self service... flew down with a friend at 11pm to have no lights on the ramp to tell you where to proceed. Finally flashed the landing light at the self serve sign, and when we pulled up the pump did not pull fuel after doing the instructions. Might have just been an off night for fuel, but the ramp needs some floodlights with how bad some parts of the cement are chewed up

Enjoyed my return trip here today with a new pilot friend. Spoke with Neil (airport) on the phone a couple times and he greeted us today, too. Very personable and helpful, and Thank you for the crew car. Took off on runway 30 and it's a bit rough and has fissures. Recommend 8/26 which we landed on. The reported in-op VASI on runway 26 were working well.
