Arrived mid morning today to shoot Appch & spend a few hours. Beautifully paved runway (8-26), fine comfy and huge "lounging room" in airport office. Luke (airport mgr) was very friendly and welcoming, offered use of crew car to eat lunch in town. Thank you KLHX for supporting GA the way that you do.

Landed on 08/26 in a crosswind. I was curious how bad the “poor condition” was for rwy 12/30. It didn’t look safe to use from the air. Cordial team at the FBO, and it was open Saturday so we did not need to call for after-hours access. There’s self-serve fuel or full service for a little extra fee. Used the courtesy car to go explore Bent’s Fort and had lunch in town.
