I flew in to Amador County on 8/9/25 in the afternoon. The approach to 19 comes in over a bluff with a sudden up rise causing a gain an altitude of about 500 feet. The upslope on 19 appears more than .21%. I flew out on 8/11/25. The FBO was open at 8 AM as advertised. The airport manager was very friendly and another pilot from the area saw that I was airing my tires and came over to assist. The restrooms were open and adequate.

Flew in on a breezy day. The airport diagram does mention the upslope on 19, but in my view doesn't convey it fully. I believe that's since there's a drop off on the approach to 19 so you've got a downward pressure if the wind is powerful coming from 190 or something in that direction, and the upslope can truly catch you off guard. So be ready. Felt somewhat like landing at a small Sedona frankly.

Flew in to walk with son from airport boundary to adjacent strip mall for lunch but was accosted by u friendly airport manager. Have been flying there for many years but current management not friendly to pilots.
