They’re bumping overnight fees up starting June 1st to $199 a night for single engine piston. Buyer beware. No way to stop them.

Call regarding the new charges before you plan to go! I've been flying in and out of Modern for the past 5 months weekly and flew up with a companion on 12/31/25 and was told they would be putting in a drastic rise in charges... I used this FBO to commute to and from work. Overnight parking for a piston single is now $137/night! I guess I will be driving from here on out, it's quite disappointing. I don't think they even waive a night or the facility fee anymore either with 15 gallons of avgas.

Good fbo outside of the pilots lounge, come on modern can we not replace recliners that date back to when the building was built? 2 out of all 8 chairs might work if you hold your mouth right and smash the button enough, Goodluck.

Our company, a 135 operator, comes in and out a few times a month, mostly in light jets. Over the last few months the pricing policy has been changed, and it is way out of line with industry standard. The minimum fuel needed to waive the handling fee is now 350 gallons. It was 150 in December 2025. Normally the uplift to waive the handling charge is about the same as, or close to, the aircraft's 1st hour fuel burn — around 200 gallons for us. Please be advised. It really ruins the experience.

I was enroute to Charlotte and had a friend advise me that Modern Aviation increased their fees. I previously paid $25 for an overnight with a quite high fuel price at Modern since they took over from Wilson Air. It is now $149 per night for a small piston air plane and a $15 landing charge plus they have quite high fuel prices. This was formerly my go to spot when I would come to my house on Lake Norman. They have lost my patronage and I will ensure they lose everyone else's patronage I can speak with.

For a Piper PA-24 $30 daily charge (handling/landing combined) 15 gallons waives the daily charge $25 overnight (tie down) $150 hangar fee (if accessible, based on tenant vacancy)

First time at Modern and NOT a good impression. They did not have my car reservation after I called yesterday and they said "GoRentals not at the counter, but we will let them know and have your car ready". No reservation with GoRental when I landed but GoRental was able to get me a car after a 10 min wait. Never had this issue with Wilson!
