May 15, 2023First time visiting Bryce Canyon. BCE is a very short distance to the park and small town. Flew by the park (beautiful) to the left downwind for 21. No traffic at all. Very long and smooth runway with everything located at the far end. The iconic log cabin hangar blocks the terminal building and the main transient parking so keep taxiing to the end or you could find yourself at the far tie down area. Bring your own rope or straps! None available at any of the spots. Greg was extremely hospitable coming and going. Nice rustic facilities. You can rent e-bikes there that are newer/better than the ones you’ll find in town. The bike path is right there. Ruby’s Inn has a free shuttle. The town has only a few hotels and the dining options are limited. When visiting the park, there is a free park shuttle that stops in front of the hotels. No self serve fuel, so fill up during business hours. When departing take it slow on the taxiway. Though newly slurry sealed, lot

April 7, 2021It was my first time flying into KBCE and I arrived here late (6:30pm) and the FBO was locked up. If the FBO is locked and you need to use the restroom you’re out of luck and you may have to consider the afternoon winds if you need to relieve yourself. The desert ghost-town atmosphere and old looking barn hangar add a lot of character to this place. I called 30 minutes out to the Best Western Grand hotel to send the shuttle. The timing was perfect as the shuttle pulled up right after I put the cover on the plane. note that fuel is apparently only available off the truck. The runway was in good condition and found myself parking next to a Mooney, Bonanza and Meridian. There are a few dining spots located nearby via shuttle in the small commercially confined tourist area. The dining spots and hotels seemed to be run and managed by young foreign visitors that might be rotating through different national parks. Food was “adaptable” and value questionable but thankful for the convenience. Beautiful area!
