Cascade (U70)

Great stop for fuel and flight planning. Cascade still doesn't support Vector, unlike McCall just north of here. Fuel is kind of self-serve. Pull in as near to the hose box as you can so you aren't blocking twy A. It's a bit cramped, though you can taxi around somebody fueling if they park right. Watch for deer on the runway, although they at least seem pretty accustomed to airplanes. I'll return.

Fine airport! Have arrived here several times. This occasion I required fuel, checked ForeFlight, and they show 100LL. Landed at 8pm from Smiley creek airport, to discover they have a self serve pump, but no spot to pay. ***They must be open to obtain fuel, no self service accessible outside operating hours. The fellow I phoned was very kind and eventually came down so I could get fuel, but just a heads up for everyone to confirm they're open if you intend to get fuel, or prepare another destination outside operating hours.

I reside in Cascade and just looked at “ restaurants listing here on Foreflight. There are several mistakes listed. Here are some fixes: 1) Roxy is a movie theater that is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 2) Valley Club has no food - it is 100% drinking bar. 3) Thunder Mountain is the nearest restaurant to U70 (. ~ 1/2 mile) and has superb burgers. 4) The Northfork is a funky restaurant that has good food. A few months ago they stopped serving their superior lunch due to lack of staff but there breakfast is superb. It is about 3/4 of a mile from U70. 5) The Whistle Stop has re-opened with fine new mangament and has a very creative menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Superb steaks and pasta dishes and also the best flatbreads and pizzas. It is very reasonably priced. 6) The Lakefront is on the town golf course and is where locals go almost religeously. It overlooks Lake Cascade. (The folks that manage here are the ones that have resurected Whistle St
