Johnson Creek (3U2)

I agree with all the good things previous folks have mentioned. A couple handy details: (1) tie-down anchors are available on the east side of the runway, though none are on the west side. Either side works well for parking/camping, but if you park west bring your own anchors/screws; (2) amenities include a microwave, water boiler, ice (bring a bottle, leave a bottle freezer), coffee maker, toaster, courtesy cars, and electrical outlets; (3) the walk into Yellow Pine is roughly 1.5 h.

First time flying in with a C185. Definitely watch the YouTube video and read the Idaho guide before you go. The runway was in perfect condition. Land 17 and depart 35. Base to final felt a little tight, so I came in slightly high on final. Bikes, cars, firewood, water, coffee, ice (frozen bottles), and charging are all provided. Awesome hike to the hot spring/tub (mid field on the west side of the runway, fishing, and Yellow Pine has a really good BBQ spot (Yellow Pine Tavern). "the Corner" also makes amazing smash burgers.

Exceeded every expectation for a first timer at JC. Thank you Jim and Debrah.
