July 13, 2026Came in on 7/10/2026. The runway was fairly bumpy, with little weeds coming up through it. It felt pretty rough even just taxiing. Windsock was easy enough to pick out on a low pass. Plenty of runway for a Warrior, probably enough room for a stop and go.

July 5, 2025Flew into Downey this past week. Somewhat demanding but manageable if well equipped. No problems for a 182, the runway surface is fine and is good practice for short field technique.
Sun I.
August 27, 2022I suggest landing 17 if wind allows.I touched down 35. runway has a dog leg on that end reducing the landing distance. Keep flaps in for go around. I took mine out too soon and it was a little tense on a go around. Overfly wind sock. This valley has its own wind system even though it’s near Malad.
