A real center for GA. You might run into Corp pilots and local people hanging around who are happy to talk aviation. Not some big fancy facility, but it works really well for GA and Corp traffic. ATC is easy.

A place that was great "back in the day" has turned into one I’d steer clear of. Plenty of FBOs use labels such as "TSA security fee" as just another way to generate revenue, and pilots accept it like it’s unavoidable. The corporate crowd isn’t concerned and calls it "great service". I fly into airports of similar and larger size around the country on a regular basis, including inside the Washington DC SFRA in VA, without getting trapped in the FBO over made-up fees. Fine paying for actual service, but there are better choices near KPIH.

Nice airport. I was dressed for possibility of an out landing in the cold rather than style which is the only explanation I can figure out for the inexplicably rude and unhelpful FBO clerk. She didn't want to direct me to the pilot lounge. I was there 5 minutes, was literally locked in the building until I paid the $15 "security" fee and I left vowing never to return.
