Seligman (P23)

Runway and taxiway are both in excellent shape. No fuel or other services, but the bathrooms on the field are clean. Chains available for tie downs. A group of us flew in and walked the short distance to the Road Kill Cafe, which gives pilots flying in a 10% discount if you tell them. Interesting restaurant with all kinds of taxidermy animals on display. Good Food. Right on old Route 66. There is another restaurant directly across the street that I haven't tried yet, but plan to. Charming little airport. Had a strong left crosswind coming in on Rwy 22. Town is an easy 10-minute walk away. Westside Lilo’s has been German-owned for 60 years and is a popular stop with German tourists traveling Route 66. A good place to pick up Route 66 souvenirs.

Landed today in Seligman. Fine clean runway and restrooms too. Walked to West Side LILOs for food. Good people and food. Two students in two planes, from Embry Riddle were in the pattern at P23 and had some difficulties seeing each other and getting in the correct flight pattern. One was doing engine out work over the airfield. Not secure in my view, one would think those maneuvers over the airport while others are entering the pattern would be risky.
