St Tammany Rgnl (L31)

Spent the night here while heading back to Florida. Really good airport. The FBO is new, with frozen hot dogs and Hot Pockets in the freezer, Coke and water in the frig, showers, recliners, and a kitchen stocked with paper plates and utensils you can use. Not sure whether they have a courtesy car. Fuel is cheaper than at the airports around the area. 24 hr access

The aerodrome has a fine new runway, reasonably priced fuel, and welcoming personnel. We flew in today and met Cheryl, the aerodrome manager, and she directed us to park in one of the 5 numbered spaces to the north of the fuel farm. She was very friendly and welcoming. Parking is $20 without fuel purchase. Auto access is a small road to the east of the runway. Drivers continue onto the ramp to the FBO or parking or hangars. Signs direct them to remain clear of the runway. Thanks for a good stay!

FBO - Abita Skies just opened 5/10, fresh facilities and fuel station. Nice location - in abita springs - nearby brewery and eateries. Stopped by and checked out abita springs cafe for breakfast. Small coffee shop out front had the finest Affogato.
