April 1, 2026The staff at the Pilatus center were friendly. I arrived on a Sunday and the line staff directed me in. The FBO shuts down early, although a coded pedestrian gate allows access after hours. The CLT clearance relay was out of service, and the FBO tells everyone to use a cell phone instead.

February 2, 2024GCO was not functioning, just made buzzing sound. Ended up utilizing my phone via Bluetooth to headset and phoning the Charlotte clearance phone number directly. That went well but took about 7 minutes.

December 29, 2023GCO 121.725 - observed in FBO To reach Clearance or FSS (while on ground) to get/cancel IFR: • Clearance: press mic 4 times • FSS: press mic 6 times It will prompt you to press mic twice to confirm position. If incorrect, wait 5s and begin anew. GCO will audibly dial. When responded to, converse via radio/tel connection To finish, press mic 3 times while frequency clear to stop If zero voice activity for 60s it will state "Timing Out", key mic within 3s to add 30s of time System antenna is near terminal structure
