South Bay Aviation possesses small but fine pilot shop. Very welcoming assistance.

Richard and his South Bay Aviation team is a first class FBO across the board! I have consistently received courteous and professional service each visit. This Sunday morning after unusually low temperatures, my battery did not have sufficient power to start my engine. Richard happened to drive by and upon understanding the situation, immediately had his team provide me a jumpstart. I cannot say enough on how much I appreciate their professional and courteous service. Gunther J.

There’s a Midway car rental office with cars on site at the Mercedes dealership across the street.

Friendly personnel, no charges for overnights, LA standard fuel costs. Suggest phoning ahead for a parking spot. Good location to stop in LA!

Upon landing I called the phone number of South Bay Aviation and a very courteous person told me they are a flying school and not a FBO. He regretted that he had no parking slots available. The transit parking in front of the tower is large and convenient. Self fueling is close.

Stopped in this evening to collect a friend in Torrance, and checked out South Bay Aviation. They are very cordial people there, met the owners who are huge aviation enthusiasts (owner has been a pilot for over 40 years!), and ready to assist any way they can. Good store there, fuel, snacks, whatever you require! I’ll return when in town again!

I had a good experience at South Bay Aviation. My wife and I flew our club’s Mooney in from Pennsylvania and kept it at South Bay for 5 nights. We bought fuel and they did not charge us any tie-down fees. But the finest part was that they provided me with a flight instructor, Rafael, who trained me how to correctly, and more importantly, securely land at Catalina Island. He was with me for a total of 2.5 hours on the ground and in the air. Rafael was a good instructor and he gave me the assurance to take my wife over to Catalina on my own. It was $170 well spent. If you have never flown to Catalina, my encouragement would be to take a flight instructor the first time. You won’t regret it.
