March 3, 2025Unique airport with some neat history (it was going to be the biggest airport in the US). There is nothing there but it's neat to be in the Everglades. In theory a permit is needed. Quite simple to obtain. There's a fellow who identifies as "operations" who asks everyone their tail number and can jam up the frequency.

February 21, 2025Beautiful long runway. There is a small FBO on the field with restrooms. Open 8:30-5 AM. If looking to call ahead the number is 3057933158.

Quick permit issuing. Ground operations personnel informed facility is open only 0830-1730 local, although this is not recorded or NOTAM'd anywhere.
