Western Carolina Regional (KRHP)

Really nice airport tucked away in the mountains, with excellent scenery. The FBO staff were extremely friendly and handed me the nicest courtesy car in their fleet. I used Murphy as a waypoint, then tracked the highway and railroad for a straight-in approach to Runway 8. I’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful setting, and the runway and taxiways are maintained in perfect condition. I arrived at night; all the lighting worked flawlessly, and the FBO was among the best-equipped I've ever seen. Chris, the manager, was also very welcoming. Thank you all!

Stopped in at Western Carolina regional for a fuel stop while crossing the country in my Piper Arrow for an overnight. I have never had such personal service. Andy went above and beyond to help me with transportation and his time. Lovely mountain scenery. This was a good stop and I will return.

This was a really neat airport to fly into, and the FBO personnel couldn't have been kinder. Will certainly be returning, and would strongly suggest it.

Absolutely beautiful area, and I will for sure be back. The runway and ramp were excellent, and I really liked the FBO. I arrived a bit after hours and had a hard time lining up transportation because of that. I strongly recommend setting something up ahead of time, since there is only one uber around. Getting a ride the following morning was just as difficult. There were vehicles at the airport; we simply couldn't reach anyone. The IFR departure also seemed a little challenging to a non mountain pilot.

CAUTION: Came in for the day to ride the rail-bikes in Murphy. Flew in a light twin. Was greeted by Carson who came with chocks and chocked our plane. Went into FBO and was told there is a landing charge of $100 and on top of that a ramp charge for another $100. $200 to land and spend 6 hrs. Even ATL isn't that costly, And it was true, as of 6/23/25 twin engine and above. Carson was able to call his boss who I then talked to and he decided to waive it. Beware! Carson was great though!
