February 5, 2026Not CAA anymore, Atlantic is the CAA now. Front desk and line are good. Best you double-check the fees. Even tenants get charged for a GPU now.

September 27, 2025This is *not* Hawthorne. Those were good folks. Never a ramp fee for locally based pilots. Support for events. They were part of the GA community. Recently taxied up to their empty ramp to drop off my GM. 6 line people swarmed my plane like a carjacking. Cones, chocks, and one guy to stand in front of the plane to make sure ramp fee paid. Said, "go pay your ramp fee inside." Ok, fine. $120 for a piston single? Definitely not Hawthorne any more. Never again.

October 29, 2024This FBO is now called Ascension -- changed from Hawthorne last week (sold to private equity). Brand new sign and everything. Pleasant staff and good facilities!

June 21, 2022Flew there couple of times from Minneapolis, the ramp team are super friendly and always welcome us! So do the front desk always lovely and super nice. Also the place is amazing and comfortable. Planning to go there on Saturday to spend the night in Chicago. I will always go to Hawthorn.

November 27, 2025Before choosing Ascension, I telephoned ahead to check what the charges would be. Sometimes charges are quite wild at busier, corporate airports. Was informed that landing fees for my plane, M500, would be waived with 30 gallon fuel purchase. I utilized CAA, which made the fuel cost fair. Impressive lobby, personnel was cordial and useful. I would suggest this FBO.

December 12, 2024Just phoned to inquire about arriving to drop off one traveler in a single engine Cessna and was informed that would be $130 if I did not buy fuel. We have utilized this facility multiple times before in the corporate jet I operate and consistently received fine service but was astonished to learn they would charge so much for a drop off in a single engine.

October 4, 2023Terrific people at Hawthorne-- been stopping there for ages. Unfortunately, corporate has unofficially decided to discourage single engine pistons. Overnight fee now $80/night for a tie down in a C210. Staff felt bad, but of course not their call. They did me a solid, and charged me half ($40/nt). Call in advance and they will tell you the latest. I’m told that John the overnight manager may have some flexibility- but you will need to call in advance of arrival.

June 11, 2022Flew in 7/14/22. Ramp crew treated me fine even though i was only in a c-170. Front desk staff was the same, good treatment even though i was only there a few hours. Certainly would recommend and will use them again.
