VERY busy training airport. Stopped at North Star because I could not locate the self serve area. Front desk was able to get the fuel truck coming for me after asking. Fantastic food choices with ability to pay with credit card. This is a college training airport so be ready for more traffic than usual.

If you are staying the night, reserve your lodging early. All hotels sell out by 16:00. Confirm your rental cars also. The day I showed up, with a confirmation number threw the rental car company, they called and said they had no vehicles available nor had a way of getting the vehicle to the airport (they did have a car for our passengers). The Uber ride to the nearest hotel was an hour away and cost $100.00.

Frequent IFR practice is done at Mankato so it is very vital to stay watchful about opposing traffic that is required to go to minimums on approaches along with missed approach procedures. Also I highly suggested going to the local flight schools website and looking for their procedures as they have an exceedingly high volume of training aircraft with specific FOM procedures.
