June 24, 2026Flying to Savannah, we used MidCoast Regional (KLHW) to avoid KSAV's expensive fuel and fees. The FBO is modern, well-appointed, and has plenty of parking. Enterprise called that morning and said the car would be brought over. We arrived at KLHW at 7:05pm, but the FBO was closed and there was no rental car anywhere. FBO manager Patrick came to the rescue and very kindly drove us to the rental car counter at Savannah airport so we could get another car. He saved us from having to spend the night in the FBO. Thanks Patrick and Brock!

February 28, 2026It's a nice, quiet airport compared with KSAV if you're trying to save a little on fuel. The tower controller will probably remind you anyway, but make sure you start your crosswind turn early and/or fly a short approach when the restricted airspace is active. It's easy to get yourself in trouble if you're in something fast and not really paying attention!
