Had to land at Joplin for mechanical issue. The personnel at Mizzou Aviation took care of me very quickly. Would suggest.

Was ferrying my LSA low and slow cross-country and the people at Mizzou Aviation were awesome! Helpful flagman when taxiing in and immediate fuel provided on shut down; they were careful not to overfill, too, which was much valued. Friendly people inside, good crew car—and they found hangar space for me for a few days when I got held up. Would return to JLN and Mizzou in a heartbeat!!

Overall fine and helpful FBO with a huge BUT! Landed here and stayed overnight. When they towed my plane, their tractor came unhooked and it struck my spinner, dented the spinner. The mechanic called and admitted fault. Offered to take the spinner off to smooth the dent out. He did and to the untrained eye, likely wouldn’t have noticed the damage. He said that the FBO would cover a new spinner. This is where things went wrong. A few weeks pass and my Cirrus certified FBO puts together the quote to send to Joplin for them to cover. FBO manager declines to pay the whole bill. Says he does not want to pay my FBO’s markup. Offers for me to fly 1000nm back to his shop for him to repair it (they are not a Cirrus certified FBO). Which BTW, components were backordered for weeks and Cirrus does not sell my paint shade anymore. So, I’m supposed to fly my plane 1000nm for him to hopefully get the spinner and then him get the paint incorrect? No thanks. So, brief summary, I stopped there overnight and ended up with a damaged spinner and a $900 bill (the difference from what Joplin paid). In the future, I’m going to file an insurance claim and let them sort it all out.

Good FBO, marvelous personnel, simple entry and exit. Fine trip to Joplin. Dinner at Babe's Drive in (not far from the airport) was ideal, is a community diner. Note: Best rental car is Hertz which is situated at the Terminal. If reserve far enough ahead, they can have the vehicle waiting at the FBO, they suggested a minimum of one business day. We utilized the courtesy car to go to the terminal to collect our car, brief hold up but functioned just fine.

Good experience this evening at Mizzou. Tower mistakenly parked us at the former FBO, but a bit of walking was certainly needed too. The line personnel were superb regarding taking the fuel order and arranging a car. Facilities are tidy and spotless, a very welcoming FBO to mention. Shall certainly make this my stop when I am in the region. Mooney

Does not take AvFuel or AMEX, despite what they assert.

Diverted to Joplin for weather. Ended up staying overnight. FBO personnel was very friendly and took care of us. Fuel costs were very reasonable as well.
