Hartford-Brainard Pilot Reviews:

May 31, 2026Not very transient friendly. High fees and expensive fuel. For a Piper Meridian, you need to buy 60 gallons minimum to avoid the $150 facility fee. The overnight ramp charge is a steep $80/night. Access is limited to FBO hours, and outside those hours there is a $125 minimum callout charge. Lineman are there at 6m, but if you want to leave before 7am than you have to pay the $125 callout fee. Fuel is priced much higher than at nearby airports. 4B8 or KBDL provide a much better overall experience.

March 4, 2026No self service gas. They charge $2/gal. more than the airports around here for 100LL. If you don't buy fuel, they stick you with a $40 landing fee. Nothing to eat close enough to walk to. No crew car. Hanger cost is ridiculously expensive. You can’t get in or out of the airport after hours. I would not recommend this airport to anybody.

April 26, 2023Busy airport because of flying instruction good FBO with crew vehicle. I suggest the market eatery for the burgers or J restaurant.
