Incredible small airport with long runway. I flew in here for a concert I was playing and they rolled out the red carpet! They got me a fine SUV from Herz and got twin Skymaster all topped off so I could depart out at midnight for my next tour stop. Other bigger airport in the area wanted $400 call out fee ! Amazing southern hospitality. We arrived right at dark as a front approached and the wind began howling. A local pilot saw us as he was departing the airfield. He called the airport manager Tim Granberry, who came out and brought us the courtesy car. It was a huge assistance on a stormy night, with lodging about 10 miles away. He gave us his card and offered support if anything else came up during the storm.

Stopped in for fuel in Bell 206. Was told the old manager recently retired and the current manager had the doors locked where Unicom didn’t open the doors. Current manager said full service Jet A is by appointment only.
