Stopped by for fuel and a restroom on the way from Preston, ID (U10) to Ft. Leavenworth, KS (Sherman AAF. KFLV). I was drawn by competitive fuel prices and the availability of a grass strip on a windy/gusty day in a tailwheel airplane. Both runways are fine, but the grass strip is the best I’ve ever landed on. Truly beautiful. We were met on the ramp by a very kind gentleman (Greg I believe) that asked if he could be of any assistance. We asked directions to a restroom and fuel. He pointed my wife in the right direction and then helped me pump gas. The Pilot’s lounge is comfortable and spotless. Masks were available at the entrance if you needed one. Every effort seems to have been made to make this an appealing stop. Greg helped rewind the fuel hose then asked if there was anything else he could do for us. He wished us a safe flight and told us where we could find him if there anything came up (he was in the middle of a cement project for one of the drain lines at the airport). Bottom line: good stop! We will return anytime we are in the area!
