After my 1st emergency because of a stuck valve on my way back to FL in 2024 I took 2 weeks to substitute a piston & cylinder & make New Companions. The Cessnas2Oshkosh (C2O) mass arrival was thrilling, this was on a different standard. Management, personnel and local pilots assisted with mechanics, components, hangar area, lodging and transit. Good people I now call Companions! I plan to stop this year. (La Delicia Mexican & their nerve calming margaritas or The Copper Top BBQ??) Thanks Again to All at KGDA!!

An absolutely gorgeous runway and FBO! Mr. Jim Johnson got us set up with a hangar, a place to sleep, a courtesy car, and what turned out to be a fine dinner recommendation (La Delicia). The FBO has a comfortable place to flight plan with WiFi and a good view of the ramp/runway. A sheriff deputy even stopped by and gave us a business card and told us to contact him if we needed anything. A rare gem of an airport and a friendly community - would highly, highly recommend.
