April 21, 2026Arrived on a bright spring morning, with the airspace absolutely packed. The controllers did an excellent job keeping everything organized, safe, and moving. They were friendly and patient as well, especially with anyone who wasn’t familiar with the airport or its airspace. The folks at Atlantic were welcoming too. Overall, a really good airport experience, though I’d suggest having two pilots onboard the first time in.

April 8, 2026About as near to NYC as you can get without using a bravo or heading to Teterboro. Good access to the Long Island Railroad, with trains running frequently. I’ve stayed at both Modern and Atlantic, and both are great; Atlantic may be a little cheaper. Like mentioned, it’s busy-probably a dozen aircraft queued up to land on a Thursday afternoon! The transition between delta and the adjacent charlie (MacArthur) can be tricky. I stayed below 1500 until making contact, though I’m not sure that’s the best way to handle it.
