May 23, 2026I tried getting a rental car in Phoenix through the FBO, and the prices quoted were ridiculous. They were 3 to 4 times what you'd pay renting from a car company that doesn't service the airport. I was told there is some kind of special tax involved. Either way, you're way better off taking an Uber and renting somewhere away from the airport, or just sticking with Ubers and Waymos. More and more cities and states seem to think taxing the crap out of visitors is the best way to make money!

May 16, 2026Starting May 1st, 2026, the landing fee will be $25. Training traffic keeps it VERY busy. The tower handles things really well. KCHD, just to the South, is a better option for aircraft from outside the area since they don't charge landing fees.
