Good service, nice FBO!

Good place to stop, I've flown in here many times and left my plane overnight. The FBO is fine, and I enjoyed the upstairs balcony. The bar next to it is a neat spot for food and live music.

PIREP. We were on our way to Tuscaloosa for a game but the airport was shut down because of parking problems just before we got there. Birmingham approach suggested diverting to Bessemer. My ramp charge for a single engine piston was $250 for 7 hours on their ramp. It was after hours and I anticipated paying for that but $250 seems they were exploiting the situation. Their ramp was full as other folks had the same difficulty as us. I am not trying to grumble just FYI.

Didn’t remain there for long just a brief fuel stop for a carbon cub. welcoming, no problems whatsoever. Quite welcoming young folks working the line

Fine airport and FBO with a welcoming, supportive team. The fuel truck showed up within minutes of arriving, even though I was there for a two day stay. Their opening time is 0800, though the attendant said there might be someone there sooner on my departure day. When I got back to the airport at 0700 the plane was already pulled from the hangar. FBO will waive ramp fee if you've come to conduct business at the airport and do not plan to leave; that is, if you fly in for lunch at The Hangar, the fee is waived.
