Desert Aviation (KDMN)

Weather day out west, and I could reach the staff by leaving a message; they texted me back through the day and were very helpful. Got in before they closed, hanger was available, plus a crew car for the hotel! Pretty great being able to arrange all that on the fly! This will be our companies go-to FBO for west trips, not just for fast fuel but for the great service.

Guess they dont truly open at 7AM,

Planned on getting fuel. Sunday! Descending when received a call from another pilot saying "I just tried. No one there. No answer on the after hours number. No self-serve pump so no fuel available. Try Grant Co. 30 nm NW. Strong direct crosswinds but has fuel." I did appreciate the info, diverted and fueled. Lesson learned--hours info is fine but not authoritative. Call before highly advised. KDMN is good--when open!

Went over there for a project, met new friends and FBO staff were good enough to help us start our engine when we had troubles

Arrived in the evening when I thought the FBO would still be open but just missed it. Could get inside the FBO for a break but couldnt exit the airport property that way. Gave the number a call and he easily talked me through picking up the courtesy van from the tarmac. Got to keep it over night with no issue. Simple early morning fuel up and departure. Nice people!

Bert was good. Took the crew van for the evening.

Closing hours are 1800 NOT 1900
