Morrilton was our pick to watch the total eclipse. The people here couldn't have been nicer and more hospitable. They marshalled everyone in, made sure everyone knew where the restrooms were, and the locals were all so welcoming. They cooked burgers and dogs, had drinks, etc. And the fuel was inexpensive! Pancake breakfast first Saturday of every month.

Take note; pilot controlled lighting on 122.9, but CTAF is 122.8; this is the SOLE grievance one can discover here! Once more, rescued by the welcome at BDQ. Inquire about Sherrie’s short-term accommodations. For touring families, (and anyone else) it surpasses a hotel by a wide margin. 2 bedrooms in a calm location in town. Makes a wonderful break just 3 miles from the field. And valued reasonably, as well. Simple SS 100LL, fine runway and sufficient parking. Superb overnight stop. Thanks Glen and Sherrie.
