Taylor County Air Board (KAAS)

Came in late afternoon this past Wednesday while I was in town for business. The second my nose wheel hit the runway, I could tell something was wrong. Sure enough, I had a flat tire on the nose wheel. The crew came right out to the runway and took care of me. They towed the plane over to the maintenance hangar, and about 1.5 hours later I was back in the air. The service was different than any FBO I’ve been to. Quick service and really friendly people.

There is no fuel truck, but they will pump self serve for you when there.

Stopped by Taylor County en route to Savannah GA since daylight was fading. Was offered a car and recommended eatery. Stayed for one night in the nearby Super 8 before heading on my way the next morning. Kirk was an absolute gentleman, even helping refuel the next morning, and was as helpful as he could possibly be. Huge thank you!

Landed on Mothers Day to see my Mom. Had a friend on crutches, doors were all locked so couldn’t use the facility. Coke machine wouldn’t accept dollar bills so couldn’t get anything to drink. Attendant was sitting inside at his desk, wouldn’t open the door. 6:30 pm on Sunday.
