Ridgeland - Claude Dean Airport at Ridgeland-Claude Dean Pilot ReviewsOverall Rating:

June 7, 2026There seems to be a serious lack of basic aviation knowledge at this airport, including understanding of routine airport operations and standard practices. The fees are honestly ridiculous-higher than anywhere else in the region and completely disconnected from reality. Hilton Head and Savannah are both less expensive and offer better amenities. I also overheard some distasteful comments about corporate pilots.

May 20, 2025I seldom post reviews but today made me quite angry. Arrived in a Pilatus PC-12NG at 0750am. Their opening time is 0800. I purchased $2000 worth of jet fuel and was billed an extra $200 after hours charge since they assisted me before 8am. If this policy had been shared beforehand, I would have gladly paid the $200 and gotten fuel at another location. I will not be touching down here again.

December 27, 2023NO Self service is available. Management made the independent supplier depart the airfield.

May 6, 2026I'd recommend finding out about the ramp fees before you get there. For a rural, uncontrolled airfield without instrument approaches, the different charges feel much higher than average, particularly for piston aircraft.

April 22, 2026Set up a rental car through Enterprise with FBO delivery. It was supposed to arrive Saturday for a Sunday pickup, but the delivery never showed up-and Enterprise is closed on Sundays. I asked whether the crew car could take the pax to the resort; the FBO worker said he had to check with his manager first, and the manager didn’t answer "because it’s Sunday." Ended up searching online for a private driver since there were no Ubers available. Turned into a 2 hr ordeal.

January 5, 2023Sky-Blue Aviation is the county run FBO at 3J1. The management is rude & difficult. They will not allow piston planes to be tied-down on the ramp if you are transient, and they do not offer 24 hour self serve. They offer full service fuel, but the hours are sporadic & they request you give them a 24 hour notice of your arrival for fuel. I recommend going elsewhere for a more hassle free service.
