91 mogas pump is up and running as of 3/4/2026

Like tahoecub, I found one free west-facing open tiedown spot north of the fuel island on the tarmac. But after I called the airport manager, I learned the only transient tiedowns are down in the gravel south of the fuel island. Since Hurricane was getting hit with a spring wind storm, I called Motive Aero, the Rotax center on the field, and rented a paved tiedown for $10/night - they’ve got 3 in front of their hangar.

Was in Hurricane for over a week visiting family for Thanksgiving. Good little airport, very convenient if in Hurricane, but a little out of the way if in STG. Fuel was simple, parking was simple, and runway is in excellent condition. Free WiFi on field, and small pilot lounge available with restrooms. NO lighting, so don't come at night. Also, mind the noise abatement procedures.
