June 26, 2026Left the cockpit doors open while fueling, which was a mistake-returned to a swarm of mosquitoes we had to fight off before starting the engine. Love this airport, and the cheap 100LL is a big plus. Great place for short-field takeoffs and landings.

June 22, 2026Excellent little airstrip! Fuel prices are fair, and there are free bikes available for riding into town. The FBO also has bathrooms and water. Sadly, even industrial-strength bug spray doesn't seem like enough to keep the mosquitoes away - the second you walk under the FBO to get the bikes, you'll get hit by hundreds of them instantly. Really hope they start treating for them because it is a seriously big problem.

April 30, 2026Friends of Everglade airport put on a fundraising breakfast yesterday (March 28). Everything was very well organized, with good food & camaraderie. It was well attend3d. Hope they raised some $$$. We love flying into X01. It's got the cheapest fuel in the area now.
