Beautiful approach over the monumental dam leads to a long fair and gravel runway. It is a desolate spot situated high on the river canyon, lovely. The gravel is medium soft with some sections where it is more compact; we located one spot to park and start the engine with lesser risk. The WA stamp is in the guest book box with the big airport signs at the south side of the airport.

Heavily weeded and tall grasses on north 2/3 of rwy. Consider first 1100’ of rwy 01 the only reliably usable runway surface. Gravel is larger stones and soft. Was comfortable with 3x800 tires on a C206. Many deer present on north/grassy end of rwy.
