Here on 6-21-22 to meet some people and drop off passengers. Whoa boy! The gate is not only locked, but there are around 12 locks that are in place to keep the gate secured. You must find out which lock is "The Lock" that will let you enter. You get the code from the Stonewall County Sheriff's Office, but they cannot tell you which lock it is. Plus, all of these locks are old, and have been in the weather, etc., and needless to say, they are rusty, and difficult to get open. The woman there to pick us up spent approximately 25 minutes trying to figure out how to get the gate open. Luckily, she got it open just as we landed. The runway itself is worn and in need of attention. There is a lot of grass and other vegetation growing in the runway. Markings on the runway are faded somewhat but fine, and the asphalt is generally in good condition. Not a problem for a small GA aircraft.
