Poplar Municipal (PO1)

On an XC, I was hunting for somewhere to fuel up, and PO1 wasn't advertising. I talked to a 172 that had just finished getting gas, and he said their prices were very competitive (can't say here...will get blocked). The one drawback was the antiquated system: they write down your info with pen and paper, then bill you later. Wish I would've stopped there. The other stops along the route were VERY pricey.

Got weathered out on a return trip to the west coast after Oshkosh, Dallas, Tracy & Airport dog were amazing. Old school respect and genuineness shown and given. 10,000% worth a stop if you require something. Town is rough, but yet also a glimpse into reality these days. Wonderful experience.

Fantastic airport! Met with Dallas and Tracey and were welcomed. The facilities are superb and we stayed over due to the dearth of nearby hotels in the Souix reservation. The is a fine courtesy car but Poplar is a bit rough around the edges. We went with Tracey for dinner together at the Cattlemen's club and he gave us a tour of the region. A most interesting stopover and never to be forgotten.
