August 27, 2023Flew in on a lovely, calm August Sunday. We were the only plane present. The airport is adequate: good runway, 5 or so tiedown spots—1with chains, windsock, picnic table, portapotty. Not much else there. Short walk to town, much longer to the lake. Few eateries, shops and motels in town. We walked the trail along the creek to the visitor center, ~1.5 miles.

May 28, 2022Flew in here yesterday in my Aztec with a backpacking buddy to check out conditions. Runway is in good shape and parking area as well with chains (we forgot the check the size - another poster said they are large so probably best to bring your own tie-downs). There’s a mid-field windsock visible from the air and another windsock near parking area. We had a stiff crosswind for both the landing and the departure. There’s no fuel at the airport. Also I noticed the taxiway lights are darned close and relatively tall. They fit under the Aztec wingtips but I wonder about something with lower wings… maybe there’s a standard height for these things. We walked to Mobile station anticipating lunch but found that it doesn’t open until last Saturday of April (at least this year). Only thing open was credit card service at pumps. So we walked into town instead and had lunch at Nicely’s restaurant. After paying our bill we asked if someone could run us back out to airport in exchange for $20 and
