Chiriaco Summit (L77)

Flew in today to visit the Museum. Runway is kept up well, with plenty of parking on the apron. The Patton Museum was even better than I expected and is a "must see" whether you're driving or flying past. Departure temperature was 100 degrees, but my Cherokee-180 performed like a champ. Highly recommend stopping in here.

Heads up, because of the runway curve and elevation, traffic can’t be seen from either end while you’re on the ground. It’s critical to use the common traffic advisory frequency (CTAF) 122.9 for position reports. This is a great place to fly in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Plan on at least two hours if you’re going to check out the Patton Musuem. Everything is just a short walk away.

Cool small facility in the middle of the desert! There’s food and restrooms close by. The museum around the corner was closed, but it was still neat to see the tanks thru the fence. Very quiet air traffic wise. Picturesque desert scenery. Absolutely worth a stop!
