May 20, 2026With the airport right across the road, Airport Inn Restaurant is an excellent stop since the new owners took over. It’s now reliably open and ready for visitors, making it an ideal place to fly in for a classic “$100 hamburger.” My top pick is the pizza-seriously delicious and worth making the trip for by itself. Mention that you flew in and they’ll even hand you a pilot patch. A fun little extra that makes the visit even more memorable. ~ Aviator Mark

September 2, 2025Called ahead for weekend support at the FBO which required fee. Jake was good with communication and got us parked and into the Ford 500 crew car. Worked fine for our day trip on the island. Look at NOTAMs for all of the inop equipment (ex 04 PAPI not working, etc). Would stop by again. Alpaca farm right near airport if you're feeling adventurous :)

May 12, 2025Fine small airport with much history. Lovely location on the edge of Lake Erie, Grosse Ile is gem.
