Marianna Municipal (KMAI)

Not exactly a great experience. Thankfully I had big bush wheels, because runway 8 would otherwise have been a challenge. Small wheels could do damage w pants. There were no taxiway markings at all. Fuel was easy, and the porta potty by the pumps saved me a trip inside. On departure i talked with a local who said they don't use 8 unless there's a severe crosswind, and now i see why.

Gotta say, this wasn’t one of the better experiences. Closed on weekends, and if you call after hours it took a day and a half to get a call back. No lines or markings showing where to park, so don’t go on a weekend if you expect anything. Call days in advance!

Really underrated airport and FBO, the staff were super friendly and insanely helpful. The airport itself sits on an old military training base and was pretty big, with lots of parking and a brand new gas pump. They even let us borrow the crew car overnight so we could stay at a hotel in town. Would definitely recommend stopping here!
