Memorial Field (KHOT)

DO NOT rent a car from Hertz at KHOT!! I booked a reservation two weeks ahead, but when I showed up they said there were no cars available. They said something might open up later that day-or maybe the next day-and promised to call me. The employee at the counter could care less that I was stuck there without a ride. It seriously felt like that Seinfeld episode where Jerry asks what the reservation was even for.

During a transcontinental trip, we spent 2 nights here. Ramp and Office staff were superb. I discovered a minor engine issue after the flight. A/P Randy Wood 501-276-5091 was recommended, and what a fine human being. He and his crew diagnosed the problem promptly and gave us good advice. He's not included in the Mx Shops on FF, but I highly recommend his shop. We hope to come back. TQ SR-22

When I got to the ramp, I was marshaled in. I didn’t see any tie-down ropes, but I was told they’d take care of the airplane. Two days later I called the FBO to have the airplane fueled. When I showed up, it was fueled and tied down. If rental cars aren’t available, the town has Uber and taxi service.
