June 10, 2026I always look forward to my annual summer trip into GWS, and it never lets me down. This year I came in a day ahead of schedule because of the weather situation and not knowing what the fires might do. A car was ready for me, and I used that until my Enterprise rental was dropped off at the FBO the next day. Meanwhile, I stayed at the Hotel Colorado (a little dated, but perfectly nice), went swimming at GW Hot Springs (I hadn't been back in a few years since Iron Mountain Hot Springs opened), and really enjoyed having the extra evening.

August 21, 2025Landed here as part of a mountain course route. Beautiful airport in a valley nice personnel good self serve fuel equipment. The approach and landing is something to experience. My preferred stop in the mountains so far. Thumbs up!

September 28, 2024A good airport with fine fuel costs. If you have time visit the varied town and stop in Slope and Hatch for lunch. Highly suggest on all accounts.
