July 29, 2025After a MT Rushmore flyby we had a lunch stop at this field. Jumped in the courtesy car that had a lot of character, but worked fine and had a good meal at Hi-16 cafe just outside of town and 10 or so minutes from the airport! They serve breakfast all day. No self serve fuel... the guy comes and helps you because there is no payment station. But good guy and a fine stop!

June 6, 2025Unplanned weather stop. The owner of the Sundowner inn came out and picked us up and treated us like royalty. Also brought us back the next am for a 5am departure. Good airport and friendly town.

May 21, 2023Unplanned stop while avoiding some weather. Pilot lounge is tidy, and the couch was good for a little snooze. Manager was very fine and welcoming.
