April 6, 2026Beautiful airport with absolutely fantastic scenery. Just be sure you visit when the weather is calm. Plenty of good restaurants in town. Lyft isn't available, and there aren't many Uber drivers either. I recommend calling Adam's Taxi LLC-he lives close to the airport and can take you into town for dinner and bring you back. Very convenient.

May 20, 2024Most lovely approach over the Columbia River and the Gorge. The gorge makes a wind tunnel effect delivering steady 30 knots from the NW which might seem daunting, but with two big well aligned runways, it is not truly uncomfortable. Folks at Hood FBO were very welcoming, supplied a crew car and directions to town across the fine old yellow iron bridge. The WA stamp is at Hood too. Incredible spot to fly.
