July 6, 2024I've had the chance of visiting a good many airports and FBO's, and I would rate Wausau Downtown near the top of any list. From the radio welcome to the sendoff, Manager John Chmiel and his team were friendly, sincere and helpful. John himself greets you as a fount of knowledge and history. Wausau offers much to visitors. Check them out, you won't be let down.

July 4, 2023Rode our fold up bikes three miles from the airport to downtown Wausau. Avoid Grand Avenue as the locals apparently don’t grasp the idea of bike lanes. Had a fantastic stay at Onora Suites. Lesli and Antonio were fine hosts. Had some nice meals at WOW (Wausau on the Water) overlooking the Wisconsin River and Back When Cafe downtown. Be sure and check if the kayakers are running the Wausau Whitewater Park. Quite awesome.

Runway 31 obstruction close in: 30 ft trees 150 ft from threshold 425 ft left.
