Salem Municipal (I83)

Nice little airport and highly recommended. The countryside setting is neat-it feels a bit like landing at a grass strip, even though the pavement is good. We made a quick in-and-out trip to watch a high school softball game. Called ahead and received directions for locating the crew car keys; the car was a newer GMC Acadia. Caution: while departing, we spotted 10 deer in a field about 100 yards away. NOTE: On the return trip, Waze GPS directed us to a spot on the south side of the airport, so we had to work our way back roughly 2 miles.

Apple maps directed me to the incorrect spot near the speedway. I drove here instead of flying since they do not provide a courtesy car which removes the utility out of VFR flying for business. Ifr seems like a good small FBO and I wish them success.

Flew in only because KJVY was closed. Was immensely impressed with the facilities. Very clean terminal, lots of amenities. Runway is in good shape, will fly into here instead of KJVY more often.
